Marcus O’Dair has written a fantastic book about one of our national treasures.

Wyatt brought a Bohemian and jazz outlook to the 60s rock scene, having honed his drumming skills at the end of Robert Graves’ garden. His life took an abrupt turn after he fell from a window at a party and was paralysed from the waist down. He reinvented himself as a singer and composer which has brought him a loyal following. Today, Wyatt remains perennially hip, working with artists such as Bjork, Eno, Scritti Politti, David Gilmour and Hot Chip. Marcus has talked to all of them, indeed to just about everyone who has shaped, or been shaped by, Wyatt.

‘Different Every Time’ was a Radio 4 book of the week and a book of the year in the Guardian, the Independent, the Times, the Sunday Times, the Evening Standard and Uncut magazine. Marcus has written for publications including the Guardian, the Independent, the Financial Times, the Arts Desk, the Quietus, Pitchfork, Wire and Jazzwise.
